Part 1: The original course comprising six sessions.
In homeopathy, the emphasis is on finding the simillimum: the best matching remedy for the patient’s totality of symptoms. In order to accomplish this, we must scour our materia medicae for the corresponding proving symptoms; prior to that, we must repertorize the genius of the disease, with painstakingly-deduced rubrics. But, before any of this is possible, we must do what Hahnemann in §104 called “the most difficult work”: we must take the case. And, if this is not done fully, unbiasedly, and profoundly, then everything we do subsequently to elucidate the remedy may be as futile as chasing a loose thread.
With his Holistic Counseling method, Dr. Moshe Block will help you to isolate, to develop, and to deepen this thread. In holism, the mind and the body are understood to be entities that inexorably influence one another; the body is recognized as a reflection of the mind. Addressing illness on strictly a physical basis ignores the vast contribution that the threads of our thinking make in creating – and sustaining – the fabric of disease. Over the years, we develop faulty self- and world beliefs, and maladaptive behavior patterns, that often lead to disease and to suffering. Through holistic counseling, these disparate, dis-ease-causing thoughts and patterns are gently teased out, employing specific questions that help you to transcend your usual case taking technique.

ABOUT Moshe Daniel Block
Moshe Daniel Block, ND, HMC is the author of Holistic Counseling: Introducing the Vis Dialogue, and The Revolution of Naturopathic Medicine: Remaining True to Our Philosophy, a book about the philosophy and practice of naturopathic medicine. He graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (Toronto, Ontario) in 2000. Dr. Block then went on to complete the Homeopathic Master Clinician course with Louis Klein, FSHom, in 2003. He specializes in autoimmune illness and myasthenia gravis, a disease with which he was personally diagnosed, and from which he has healed himself. He teaches the very wisdom and knowledge that helped him heal himself and others in his Holistic Counseling course.
