A Commitment to Quality
in Homeopathy Software
Encyclopedia Homeopathica (EH) has the largest library available today. It also offers the highest quality of information.
Two approaches make the quality of EH outstanding.
A transparent structure
The 393 volumes appear on the screen exactly as in the books or journals: millions of words in their entirety. Scroll the screens as if you were turning the pages. A very detailed structure is attached to this text. It defines the type of text: is this Materia Medica, a case, a proving, etc. This structure allows you to retrieve the information you are looking for with greater accuracy and speed. You want to read cases (yes - just cases) of ozone? One click and they show up!
The journals illustrate a very interesting example of this structure. The following screen shot reveals the precision with which the different articles are labeled. It is even possible to define which text constitutes a case within a general article! This makes EH transparent for your most demanding software searches.
Checking every word
Texts have been encoded or scanned by different teams, in Belgium and abroad. Our collaborators use spell checkers and take the greatest care. Still mistakes are present. Partially because mistakes exist in the original texts. Partially because the vocabulary of EH is so vast that the spell checkers do not recognize many words: old terms, specific medical terms, homeopathic jargon, Latin expressions, abbreviations, etc. Therefore we have created by a list of "suspect words" and set up a team to review these words. A Herculean task because we speak about 80,000 words!
We want to express our thanks to the people who participated in this valuable job for the first version of EH:
An Aerts (Belgium); Barry Rector (USA); Carlo Rezzani (Italy); Connie Claerhout (Belgium); Deborah Stevenson (Belgium); James Toffolo (USA); Janice Abbott (USA); Myriam Schroyens (Belgium); Pat Thode (USA); Paul Debruyn (Belgium); Peter Fraser (England); Pierre Salaün (France) and René Otter (Netherlands).
They helped create the best possible quality for your Materia Medica searches.
Will you help us?
As the number of books in Encyclopedia Homeopathica is constantly increasing and as we want to enhance the quality obtained so far, the job goes on.
If you wish to join the EH quality control team, even temporarily, contact Frederik Schroyens, the homeopathic coordinator.
Last, but not least: every little improvement counts. If you have encountered even one single mistake while reading EH, do not hesitate to send it to info@archibel.com.
