Analysis in the Materia Medica
The ability to solve a case does not rest upon the analysis of one symptom. The totality of unique symptoms reflected by the patient ultimately leads us to the appropriate remedy. Utilizing the built-in analysis graph feature, Encyclopedia Homeopathica (EH) assists the homeopath in making a sound therapeutic decision when analyzing the case. Take this example where these three key symptoms are present in a case.
- High fever (as an expression)
- Shrieking sleep
- Foam mouth
One or more words on a line define a search string. You will find a number of symptoms and by consequence a number of remedies for which these symptoms are more or less frequently present. EH allows you to define another search string on a second, third, etc. line.
If more than one line is used, each line will indicate a number of remedies where the requested information might be found. By combining these results we find the remedies, which are common to all these symptoms. View this analysis in a graphical way.
Analysis Graph
The analysis graph facilitates the precision of our search. A different color represents each symptom at the top of the screen. The importance of the symptom for each remedy is indicated by the color of the bars: precision is our goal!
If you click on any of the colored rectangles in front of the symptom (at the top), you get a new search for that information only.
If you click on any remedy you will see the symptoms relevant to your analysis, but limited to that remedy.
A click on the "Analyze" icon brings you back to the graph, where you can start another, more detailed, look at your search.
Similar to Radar Homeopathic Software, quickly find any remedy in the analysis by typing the first letters of its abbreviation. When you type "nu" a little window opens, then a double-click and you go to the remedy nux-v. in this analysis.
User Preferences Available
EH gives you many options to set your own preferences in different screens. This shows the flexibility of the program to suit everybody's needs. For example, in the analysis window you can change the position of the bars, the remedies and even the colors. You can also adapt the font size of the program: in any screen you can either increase or decrease the font size.
