Dr. Steven Olsen was born on December 17, 1957, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Dr. Olsen studied homeopathy at Bastyr University. His main teacher was George Vithoulkas and he was influenced by Roger Morrison and Bill Gray. His proving protocol comes from the Organon and Jeremy Sherr.

Dr. Olsen practices classical homeopathy full time since 1987, occasionally nutrition. He has taught since 1988, in the USA and Canada. He is affiliated with Bastyr University and the Vancouver Homeopathic Academy. Dr. Olsen is the President of the West Coast Homeopathic Society of British Columbia. His has published articles in Simillimum and Links.

He has published "Homeopathic Tree Remedies" which contains provings of Pseudotsuga menziesii, Taxus brevifolia, Arbutus menziesii, Angelica sinensis, Borago officinalis, Pinus contorta, and Acer cercinatum.
