He has practiced and taught homeopathy since 1984, first at various colleges in England, next in the USA then later in Ghana, Japan and Brazil.

He was the the Executive Director of the Pacific Academy of Homeopathy, San Francisco from 1997 to 2008. Richard was also on the board of directors of the Council for Homeopathic Certification until 2008.

Since December 2008, Richard has been on sabbatical during which time he lived in Ghana for 8 months working on various homeopathic projects including developing a two-year professional training program.

He also taught homeopathy in Japan and recently he has taught interns in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Richard has also continued to function as editor of the California Homeopath and is currently writing two books on homeopathy - one a comparative materia medica textbook and another a natural medicine guide for travel and home.

He has spoken at various conferences, including the National Center of Homeopathy annual conference and the conference of the North American Society of Homeopaths. Mr. Pitt has written several articles published in different homeopathic journals.
