This odd little book has the reputation of having cracked a tough case or two. When the words 'IT IS AS IF' are included in someone's complaint, one just might find a similar sensation and the associated remedies described herein. India

Details
Sensations As If, by Herbert A. Roberts, was published in 1937.This book contains 1000's of "more striking, singular, uncommon and peculiar" subjective symptoms of remedies, like, "Houses on both sides of street would approach and crush him--Arg-n".
This is an expanded edition of a composition begun by Dr. Holcomb and published by "The Medical Advance" in 1894. Roberts worked from an interleaved copy of Holcomb's work that was compiled by Dr. W. A. Yingling, as well as from the writings of Allen, Clarke, and Hering.
Without knowledge or reference to the Materia Medica the injudicious homeopath will find little success with these unusual symptoms.
However, dedicated study and comparison of similar medicines in any given case may quite well hinge upon one of the symptoms contained with this book. The unique value of this book is revealed the first time this occurs.
Heritage
An enlarged edition of a work begun by Dr. A.W. Holcomb and published under the auspices of The Medical Advance in 1894.Roberts drew information from an interleaved copy of Holcomb's work that was compiled by Dr. W.A. Yingling, as well as from the works of Hering, Clarke, and Allen.
The work is dedicated to Samuel Hahnemann, "the first to evaluate subjective symptoms." Roberts, aware of the shortcoming of this type of repertory, cautions to "Beware of the keynote that is not backed up by knowledge of, or reference to, the materia medica."
Julian Winston writes: A very useful work. Although it has been absorbed into the larger repertories, it works as a stand-alone volume. Hayes said of Case (who used the original volume by Holcomb) that he "chuckles about the things he found in it sometimes."
