"The key indicator for the Insect remedies is their industriousness. It is through the work that they do that they are able to progress and so their work is always important to them in some way.

They will put all their energies into their work and it will be among the ways that they gauge their success. This could be a little misleading as it is the work itself that is important rather than the concomitants such as success, power and recognition.

Though in the individual Insect remedies the importance of some of these rewards can be pronounced and thus a point of differentiation. In non insect remedies the things that come from work are often more important than the work itself."

Details

The insects are the largest and most important class of the animal kingdom. They are central to all aspects of life on Earth being major forces in both the creation and destruction of life.

In spite of this importance they have not yet had a significant role in homeopathy. In the last decades a dozen new Insect provings have opened up the remedy pictures and given us an insight into the properties of the group as a whole.

The issues of the insects correspond to those of the modern world and modern disease yet they still little understood and considerably under used.

Peter Fraser

Peter Fraser is Director of the Institute of Homeopathy, and has lectured and taught at Homeopathic Colleges around the world.

He has authored a number of works on Homeopathy and administers the Homeopathic Information Service website www.hominf.org, which provides information on Provings and New Remedies.

Of particular interest is Peter's ongoing work, Supplement to Clarke's Dictionary of Practical Materia Medica, which explains new remedies in the format used by John Henry Clarke.

Peter's particular interest is in the proving and use of new remedies. In his practice Peter matches new and old remedies to treat new and old diseases. He is especially interested in the diseases of our times: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Allergic Reactions, Hyperactivity and Concentration Disorders, Auto-Immune Disease and HIV.
