Taking Control of Your Life

When I had my children, I expected many of the feelings I experienced - joy, love, and pride. But what I hadn't expected was the feeling of helplessness. Suddenly I was responsible for the health of these children, and a lot of times I had no clue what to do.

My youngest developed croup when he was 4 months old. The doctors did the usual run of antibiotics, and again the usual run of antibiotics, and again the usual run of antibiotics, But he still had croup.

Then they put him on steroids. Have you ever seen a baby on steroids? Pretty scary. Then the doctors told me "He's pre-asthmatic. Just get used to the idea that he'll be on medication for a long time."

I heard that and something snapped in my head. I knew there had to be a better way, an option, something else that could be done. I was working for a supplement company at the time and I heard that there was a homeopath in the company.

I found his number and I called him, I can still remember what I said. "I don't know what you do, I don't know what homeopathy is, I don't care. You've got to help my kid. He's had croup for 9 months and they are telling me he'll be on meds for a long time."

He took my son's case over the phone, told me what to get and how to give it to him. And I did exactly what he told me to do...in total blind faith. The day after I gave my son the homeopathic remedy, he woke up and his croup was gone.

For the first time since the kids were born, I didn't feel helpless anymore. So I started getting any and all information I could get my hands on about homeopathy. And when my son turned 5, I went back to school to study it formally.

Now I sit in my office, and parents come in with that lost look on their faces and I teach them about homeopathy – what it is, how it works, what to do, how to do it.
