From the Book
Foreword from the first editionpublished in 2001 and originally titled:
LM POTENCIES - A NOVICE'S QUEST
I wrote this dissertation in 1997; it is now 2001. From having retyped it to getting it into its present format, I realise that it sounds very pompous - I was obviously on a crusade!
I also felt I had to justify the way I was using LMs and why I wanted to use them exclusively. As a student, I couldn't understand why the way homeopathy was generally being practised didn't correspond with what I read in the Organon. Writing this dissertation clarified for me the way I believe remedies should be prepared and administered according to Hahnemann.
As and where appropriate, I have added information or changes that I have now introduced, based on my experiences to date. I have added them in this typeface in order to make it clearer. I would say that I am much more confident now about using LMs than I was when I started and I am still sure that this is the system for me.
It is also apparent to me now that if I had been able to accept without question the information that was available from some experienced practitioners, I could have arrived where I am now, much more quickly. However, on reflection, it may be that I needed to go through the process.
I know that when I first started prescribing LMs, it was important to me to follow Hahnemann's instructions to the best of my ability and understanding.I hope that this book will be helpful to anyone interested in learning more about using LMs.
From my own point of view as a student, I was keen to acquire information from whatever source I could, so I hope that this book will serve such a purpose.
