From the Book
It is not the object of this book to suggest that the art of healing is unnecessary; far be from it any such intention; but it is humbly hoped that it will be a guide to those who suffer to seek within themselves the real origin of their maladies, so that they may assist themselves in their own healing.Author
Dr Edward Bach
1886 - 1936
Dr Edward Bach (pronounced Batch) was born in Warwickshire in 1886. He studied medicine at the University College Hospital, London. He worked in general practice, and as a bacteriologist.
Later, as a pathologist he worked on vaccines and a set of homeopathic nosodes. These are still known as the Bach-Paterson nosodes.
Despite his successful work with orthodox medicine he was unhappy with the way many doctors concentrated on diseases and disregarded the folks who were suffering from those ailments.
He was inspired by his work with homeopathy but wanted to find remedies that would be non-toxic, gentle and pure. In 1930 he gave up his practice and left London, to devote the rest of his life to his system of a more natural medicine. Constantly refining his system, he ultimately discovered 38 remedies; all, with one exception, the flowers of plants, trees and bushes.
Dr Bach moved to Mount Vernon in Oxfordshire in 1934 where he found the remaining 19 remedies that he needed to complete his healing series. It was through great personal suffering and sacrifice; he completed his life's work.
On the evening of November 27, 1936 Dr Bach passed away peacefully. Only 50 years old, he had left behind him a system of medicine that is now used all over the world.
