This is essentially a collection of all of Boenninghausen's work into one book.

There is a 140 remedy Materia Medica along with a Repertory in Boenninghausen's Characteristics and Repertory, by Cyrus Boger.

It was originally published in 1905 and was reprinted and enlarged with Boger's notes in 1937. Also included are additions from Carroll Dunham's personal copy.

Contained within the Repertory section are the Pocketbook, the Apsoric and Antipsoric Repertories, The Sides of the Body, and the repertory section of Intermittent Fever.

Boger's translation of the original German rubrics into English is considered to be more accurate than that of Allen. In addition, there is an excellent and exhaustive Index enabling one to readily locate symptoms.

The Materia Medica portion deals with the characteristics of the remedies according to the standard schema of Locations. Prominent symptoms are marked in bold type. Allied remedies and complementary remedies are also given.

The Repertory section follows Boenninghausen's schema with the emphasis on aggravations, ameliorations, and concomitants. Cross-references are extensively utilized facilitating the search of associated rubrics.

A unique section called the Concordances lists the relationship of remedies under different headings-Mind, Localities, Sensations, etc. When a remedy has acted fully but there is still a system that is unaffected, the homeopath can use the Concordances to find a related remedy for that system.

Heritage

A condensation of all Bonninghausen's work into a single volume. The Repertory section contains the Pocket Book, the Asoric and Antipsoric repertories, the repertory part of Intermittent Fever, and The Sides of the Body.

In reference to Dunham's annotated copy, Boger says: "An annotated copy presented by the author to the late Dr. Carroll Dunham later became the property of Dr. H.N. Guernsey and is now in the possession of his son, Dr. Joseph C. Guernsey, whose courtesy enables me to incorporate it in its entirety in the present work." All the additions by Dunham are marked with an asterisk (*).

The book was enlarged with Boger's notes, and reprinted by Roy in Calcutta in 1937.

Julian Winston writes:
This is the book called Bonninghausen in the computer repertories. It is not readily usable with the method outlined in the Therapeutic Pocket Book.
